Pricing depends on session length, frequency, and whether your student is in a 1-on-1 or small-group format. The diagnostic assessment and consultation are free, and we share a written quote after the consultation so you can compare it on the same scope of work.
Most students benefit from starting in September or October, before the reading load compounds across Periods 3 through 6. Students joining in January through March follow a compressed plan focused on the highest-weight periods and essay scoring patterns. We accept students up to four weeks before the May exam for targeted review.
Yes. Online sessions use a shared document and live outlining, so the format holds up for essay planning and document analysis. Most local students meet in person at our Hillsborough office and use online sessions when schedules or weather make the drive impractical.
General learning centers rotate students across shared worksheets. Our APUSH sessions are led by a tutor who has taught the College Board framework and works from your student's diagnostic. Every session targets specific periods, thematic learning objectives, and question types, not general history review.
Yes, and this is one of the most common reasons families reach out mid-year. We start with a diagnostic to separate a reading and note-taking gap from a writing and argument problem, stabilize the class grade first, then rebuild toward the AP exam.
Yes. The written portion is where most students lose points. We rehearse the DBQ document use and complexity point, the LEQ thesis and evidence structure, and the SAQ short-answer format on timed practice, then score them against the College Board rubric.
It helps indirectly. APUSH sharpens close reading of dense primary sources and evidence-based writing, both of which show up on the SAT reading and writing sections. Students prepping for both usually run a combined plan with our SAT prep program so we are not duplicating work across tutors.
AP scores are 1 to 5, so gains are measured in whole points on a small scale. Students who complete a full plan typically move up one to two levels from their diagnostic (for example, a projected 3 into a 4 or 5). Actual results depend on starting point, class grade, and time to the exam.
